Canvas sneakers from around the world
Superga's from Italy (born 1911)
Tretorn from Sweden (born 1891)
Converse from America (born 1908)
Gola from England (born 1905)
Please let me know what I'm missing!
High heels are amazing and synonymous with fortitude, but it isn't practical! I'm a practical girl at heart and my undying affection for comfortable footwear that allows me to go for impromptu long walks around the city will always trump my vanity.

40 Maps
I love maps. I'm a visual learner, and maps to me are like looking at the sky. It humbles me!

The Psychopath Test
By Jon Ronson
Took me three days to finish this, so eye opening. A real quick read. My favorite part is when a doctor sent 8 different people to different mental institutions around the US, asking to them say specific things "hearing voices" etc. They say these lies at first but then act as they would normally do after.
Some people stayed two weeks while some others stayed two months.
After the study was published, one of the directors challenged the doctor who proctored this experiment and said he would find all of his fake patients. He said at the end of the month he found 41. The doctor said he sent none at all

A year ago, I bought $19 faux leather sandals from Urban Outfitters and they have lasted me until today.
I saw a fantastic sale on Piperlime and scooped up these:

Milton Glaser
Do you perceive you live your life through love or fear? They are very different manifestations. My favorite quote is by the English novelist Iris Murdoch. She said, “Love is the very difficult understanding that something other than yourself is real.” I like the idea that all that love is, is acknowledging another’s reality.Acknowledging that the world exists, and that you are not the only participant in it, is a profound step. The impulse towards narcissism or self-interest is so profound, particularly when you have a worry of injury or fear. It’s very hard to move beyond the idea that there is not enough to go around, to move beyond that sense of “I better get mine before anybody else takes it away from me.”
